Estimate based on your salary as the MSC. The actual benefit uses your 6 highest MSCs in the 12 months before the semester of contingency, ÷ 180. Verify with the SSS.
The SSS maternity benefit
Under the 105-Day Expanded Maternity Leave Law, a qualified SSS member receives a cash maternity benefit covering 105 days for a live birth (with full pay equivalent), or 60 days for a miscarriage or emergency termination. Solo parents get an extra 15 days. This tool estimates the benefit from your salary.
How it's computed
The benefit equals your average daily salary credit (ADSC) × the number of paid days. The ADSC is the sum of your six highest Monthly Salary Credits in the 12 months before the semester of contingency, divided by 180. This calculator approximates it by treating your entered salary as a steady MSC (so ADSC ≈ MSC ÷ 30), which is accurate when your contributions are consistent.
Qualifying
You generally need at least three monthly contributions in the 12-month period before the semester of your childbirth or miscarriage, and you must notify the SSS of your pregnancy. Employed members are paid through their employer, who is later reimbursed by the SSS.
FAQ
How many days does the SSS maternity benefit cover?
Under the 105-Day Expanded Maternity Leave Law, a qualified member gets 105 paid days for a live birth and 60 days for a miscarriage or emergency termination of pregnancy. Solo parents receive an additional 15 days, for 120 days total on a live birth.
How is the maternity benefit amount calculated?
The benefit is your average daily salary credit (ADSC) multiplied by the number of paid days. The ADSC is the total of your six highest Monthly Salary Credits in the 12 months before the semester of contingency, divided by 180. This calculator approximates ADSC as your salary ÷ 30, which is accurate when your contributions have been steady.
How many contributions do I need to qualify?
Generally you need at least three monthly SSS contributions within the 12-month period immediately before the semester of your childbirth or miscarriage. You must also have notified the SSS of your pregnancy.
Is this maternity benefit calculator free, and is my salary kept private?
Yes — it's free with no sign-up, and the calculation runs entirely in your browser. The salary you enter is never uploaded or stored, so your figures stay on your device.
Why might my actual SSS payout differ from this estimate?
The real benefit is based on your exact contribution record — your six highest MSCs over the relevant period — which can differ from a single steady salary, especially if your contributions varied or had gaps. The SSS uses its records to compute the official amount, so treat this as a planning estimate.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The calculator is responsive and works in any phone browser, so you can estimate your benefit anytime without installing an app.
An estimate only — your actual benefit depends on your real contribution record. Confirm with the SSS.
