What is the Pag-IBIG MP2 program?
MP2 (Modified Pag-IBIG 2) is a voluntary savings program for Pag-IBIG members that pays a higher dividend than the regular fund and matures after 5 years. Dividends are tax-free and historically competitive — recent annual rates have run around 6–7%. This calculator estimates what your MP2 will be worth at maturity.
How the estimate works
Dividends are declared once a year and credited to your account. The calculator reinvests (compounds) each year's dividend, applying the rate to your running balance plus that year's savings. Because your monthly deposits sit for an average of about half the year, first-year dividends are smaller than a full year on the whole amount — the math reflects that.
FAQ
Is the dividend rate guaranteed?
No. Pag-IBIG declares the MP2 dividend rate each year based on the fund's performance, so it varies. Use a conservative figure if you want a cautious estimate. You can also choose to receive dividends annually instead of compounding, which lowers the maturity value but gives yearly payouts. This is an estimate — confirm current rates with Pag-IBIG.
When does an MP2 account mature?
MP2 has a 5-year maturity period from the start of the savings. You can withdraw the full amount plus dividends at maturity, or open a new MP2 account to keep saving. This is an estimate — confirm the exact terms with Pag-IBIG.
Are MP2 dividends taxed?
No. MP2 dividends are tax-free, which is part of why the program's effective return is attractive compared with many other savings options. The calculator therefore shows gross dividends without deducting tax.
What's the difference between compounded and annual payout?
With compounding, each year's dividend is reinvested and earns dividends in later years, giving a larger maturity value. With the annual payout option you receive each year's dividend as income, which reduces the final maturity amount but provides yearly cash.
Is this calculator free, and is my data private?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and the projection runs entirely in your browser, so your savings figures are never uploaded. This is an estimate — confirm current rates and terms with Pag-IBIG.
