Understand Tagalog audio in English
Got a voice message from a relative, a recorded interview, a client call or a school recording in Tagalog — and need it in English? Upload it here and you get an English translation of what was said, straight from the audio. There's no separate transcribe-then-translate step: Whisper large-v3 listens to the speech and writes it out in English directly, which keeps the meaning of Taglish sentences together instead of translating word by word.
It also works for the many other languages Whisper supports — Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian and more — but it is set up and tested here with Tagalog in mind. Regional languages such as Cebuano and Ilocano aren't officially supported by the model, so results for them vary.

Tick Also show the original Tagalog transcript to get both versions: the English translation and a Tagalog transcript of the same recording. That's useful when you're learning the language, checking a quote for an article, or confirming how a key sentence was actually phrased. It runs the audio twice, so it takes roughly twice as long.

- Researchers and journalists — get the gist of Filipino-language interviews in English quickly.
- BPO and business teams — understand recorded calls or voice notes from local suppliers and clients.
- Students — follow a recorded Filipino lecture or make English notes from it.
FAQ
How accurate is the translation?
It reliably captures the meaning of everyday conversation, instructions and explanations. It can flatten idioms, jokes, honorifics like po and opo, and slang, and it may render names inconsistently. For anything official — legal statements, affidavits, court or immigration documents — use a certified human translator.
Can it translate English audio into Tagalog?
Not yet — speech translation in Whisper only goes into English. To get Tagalog text from Tagalog speech, use Audio to Text with the language set to Tagalog.
Can I use a video?
Yes. Upload an MP4, MOV or WebM and only its audio is extracted and sent. If you want English captions timed to the video instead of a block of text, use the Subtitle Generator with Subtitle language → English.
Is my recording stored?
No. The audio is sent to our server and our speech-to-text provider (Groq) only to produce the translation, and neither the audio nor the text is stored afterwards.
Why did it say translation is unavailable?
Translation depends on our speech provider's larger model. If that service is briefly down or busy, the tool stops rather than give you an untranslated result — wait a few minutes and try again.
