Speak, and get it in writing

Talking is about three times faster than typing. Tap the record button, say what you need to say, tap again to stop, and this tool turns your voice into editable text — in English, Tagalog or a mix of both. It uses Whisper large-v3-turbo, which is far more accurate than the built-in dictation on most phones for Tagalog and Taglish.

You can play the recording back before transcribing, and re-record if you stumbled. The transcript box is editable, so you can tidy it up right on the page before copying it.

Ideas for using voice to text

  • Draft messages and emails — say it the way you'd explain it, then paste and polish.
  • Capture ideas on the go — a to-do list, a plan, or notes right after a meeting while it's fresh.
  • Write in Tagalog without the keyboard struggle — dictate a caption, a letter or a message to family.
  • Accessibility — when typing is slow or painful, speaking is the easier way to write.

Tips for a clean transcript

  • Keep the phone or microphone about a hand's width from your mouth, in a quiet room.
  • Speak in full sentences at a normal pace — you don't need to talk slowly or robotically.
  • You don't need to say "period" or "comma" — punctuation is added automatically from how you phrase things.
  • For mostly-Tagalog speech, set Language → Tagalog before transcribing.

FAQ

Why does my browser ask for microphone permission?

Recording needs access to your microphone, so the browser asks you first. The audio is only captured while the button shows it's recording. If you blocked it by accident, allow the microphone for this site from the padlock icon in the address bar and reload.

Is my recording saved anywhere?

The recording stays in this page's memory until you transcribe it. When you do, the audio is sent to our server and our speech-to-text provider (Groq) only to produce the text, and it isn't stored afterwards. Close the tab and the recording is gone.

How long can I record?

Up to 30 minutes per recording; it stops automatically at the limit. For longer sessions such as a full meeting, record with your phone's voice recorder app and upload the file to Audio to Text.

Does it work on phones?

Yes, in current Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on Android and iPhone. On iPhone, keep the screen on while recording — iOS may pause recording in a background tab.

Is this live, real-time dictation?

No — you record first, then transcribe. Processing the whole recording at once lets the model use the full context of what you said, which is noticeably more accurate for Tagalog and Taglish than word-by-word live dictation.
