The SSS salary loan
The SSS salary loan lets qualified members borrow against their contributions. This calculator estimates your loanable amount, the monthly amortization, and the cash you'll actually receive after the service fee.
How much you can borrow
- One-month loan — for members with at least 36 posted monthly contributions (6 within the last 12 months): you can borrow one times your average monthly salary credit (MSC).
- Two-month loan — for members with at least 72 posted contributions: two times your average MSC.
Repayment
The loan carries 10% interest per year on a diminishing balance, repaid over 24 monthly installments. A 1% service fee is deducted up front, so your net proceeds are slightly less than the loanable amount.
FAQ
What is the monthly salary credit?
Your MSC is the income bracket your contributions are based on (currently capped at ₱35,000). The loan uses the average of your latest 12 MSCs. This is an estimate — confirm with SSS for your exact eligibility and figures.
Why are my net proceeds less than the loanable amount?
A 1% service fee is deducted up front, so the cash you actually receive is slightly below the approved loanable amount. The calculator shows this net figure so you know what to expect.
How is the interest charged?
The loan carries 10% interest per year on a diminishing balance, meaning interest is calculated on what you still owe rather than the original amount. It is repaid over 24 monthly installments, and the share going to interest falls as the balance shrinks.
What's the difference between a one-month and two-month loan?
A one-month loan needs at least 36 posted contributions (6 in the last 12 months) and lets you borrow one times your average MSC. A two-month loan needs at least 72 posted contributions and lets you borrow twice your average MSC.
Is this calculator free and private?
Yes, it is free with no sign-up, and the computation runs in your browser, so your figures are never uploaded. It works on phones and desktops, but always confirm the official numbers with SSS.
