How PhilHealth premiums work

PhilHealth is the Philippines' national health insurance. Members with a salary pay a monthly premium that is a straight percentage of their monthly basic salary — much simpler than the SSS bracket system. The premium is shared equally between you and your employer.

The 2026 rate

The premium rate is 5% of your monthly basic salary, split 50/50, so your employee share is 2.5%. Two limits apply:

  • Income floor: ₱10,000 — salaries at or below this pay the minimum premium.
  • Income ceiling: ₱100,000 — salaries above this are charged as if they earned ₱100,000.

For example, a ₱25,000 salary means a ₱1,250 total premium, so your share is ₱625 and your employer pays the other ₱625. At the ₱100,000 ceiling, the total premium is ₱5,000 and your share is ₱2,500.

Why everyone pays the same rate

Unlike SSS, PhilHealth doesn't use salary brackets — the premium scales smoothly with your salary until it hits the floor or ceiling. That makes it easy to estimate: just take 2.5% of your salary (within the limits) for your share.

PhilHealth's premium rate, floor, and ceiling are set by law and adjusted over time. This tool uses the 2026 rate of 5%. Confirm the current rate and your exact premium with PhilHealth or your HR department, especially if the schedule changes.

FAQ

What does the premium cover?

It funds your PhilHealth benefits — inpatient and outpatient coverage, case rates for many procedures, and other health programs. Staying actively paid keeps your coverage current.

I'm self-employed — what do I pay?

Self-paying and voluntary members shoulder the full 5% premium themselves, within the same floor and ceiling. This is an estimate — confirm your exact premium with PhilHealth.

What is my share if I'm an employee?

The 5% premium is split equally with your employer, so your employee share is 2.5% of your monthly basic salary, within the floor and ceiling. For a ₱25,000 salary that is ₱625, with your employer paying the other ₱625.

What are the income floor and ceiling?

Salaries at or below the ₱10,000 floor pay the minimum premium, and salaries above the ₱100,000 ceiling are charged as if they earned exactly ₱100,000. Between those limits the premium scales smoothly with your salary.

Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and the computation runs in your browser, so your salary is never uploaded or stored. This is an estimate — verify the current rate and your exact premium with PhilHealth or your HR department.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The calculator is responsive and works in any phone or tablet browser. This tool uses the 2026 rate of 5% — confirm the current rate with PhilHealth, especially if the schedule changes.
